WHAT IF, AOTEA DUNK

WHAT IF, AOTEA DUNK

This week, I took a big swing. I applied for the Designer II, SB Men’s Footwear & Apparel Colour Design role at Nike SB in Oregon. Long shot? 100%. But aim for the stars, right? I dusted off an old concept, a mockup I originally built from a New Balance project that never made it past the “too hard” basket after our global contact was cut in the first wave of cutbacks just after covid.

I gave it another shot as i believed the concept was strong  and sent a SB version to the Nike SB head of Marketing in the States & in AUS- I got, it was going to be too tough to pull a with no real connection back to Nike SB ( no Def team riders on Nike etc) Plus a shoe colour way its a tough one for nike, Fair... So it just sat.

This week I reworked it, gave a breath of fresh air, and sent it in with my CV and cover letter - As it related to the the Job description. Who knows? Maybe this one surprises me. Either way,  Just do it right!
