This weekend, my wife and I went looking at dining tables. One she liked was on sale for close to $2,000!! sheeeshh.
My brain immediately jumped to “I could design something for less than a quarter of that? Maybe even a tenth?” Walking around the stores, I started sketching ideas in my head and phone.
Plywood popped up instantly, especially a 2 piece leg system that slots together. Then I spotted a glass top and thought, you could make the table top in different variations? Glass, marble, concrete or wood, depending on budget and style.
Later that night, I refined the concept. That’s where it landed. A practical little reminder that sometimes a simple store visit can spark a whole new build.
The next challenge is convincing my wife to get one for home… wish me luck.
